Do you work with families?
Family therapy utilizing PCIT for children ages 2-7 with modifications for children 7-10. PCIT is a structured parent management training approach. Please reference the services page form more information or scheudle a consultation call at (602) 345-1646.
Do you have in person, in office or virtual therapy?
Virtual sessions are provided on a case-by-case basis; PCIT can be conducted virtually as well as some intakes. Micaela does not recommend indivdiual virtual sessions for children under 8 years of age.
Where is your office?
Micaela's private office is located in the Run Your Life Counseling office at 3519 E. Shea Blvd #108, Phoenix, AZ 85208
Are there evening, night or weekend appointments available?
Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is limited. Currently, Dr. Miller's availability is:
Monday 11:00 AM through 1:00 PM
Tuesday 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM
Every other Thursday 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM
How long are sessions?
The intake is approixmately 1 hour ongoing therapy sessions are approimately 50 minutes.
How many times per week should I see a therapist?
Therapeutic intervention is recommended once per week. On a case-by-case basis, biweekly or every other week sessions might be recommended once rapport is established. Monthly services are only recommended for maintenance.
How long does therapy last?
Session length is determined by progress. Progress is determined by clinical indication, measurement tools, and parent and child report.

How much does therapy cost and do you accept insurance?
Micaela accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna. Please note copays may be required, and if the deductible has not been met, the full session fee is required.
Private pay is $200 for intake and $155 per 50-minute session. This fee is for both Individual and PCIT sessions, in-office or virtual.
A sliding scale is available upon request on a case-by-case basis.
Should I see a psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, or therapist?
A psychologist is a doctoral-level clinician. Licensed psychologists can conduct psychological evaluations and provide therapy.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (M.D.) specializing in mental health and typically prescribes medication.
A counselor and a mental health therapist are often used synonymously. They are usually a masters level clinican. Licensed Associate Counselors (LAC) are under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is an independently licensed counselor. Other masters level professionals specializing in mental health include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
